September Blush Beauty Box - Review

Another great box!

The Featured item this month is this pop - pouty pop crayon

This is a full size product in Fuchsia Flirt, which is a light bright pink. It almost has a frosted look. Not for me. Not for Jill. The only people I think this may look OK on is a very young (teen or twenty something) blond.

Next is Alterna Caviar Anti-Aging Dry Shampoo.

This is a small sample size - 0.1 oz. I am not sure how a dry shampoo can be anti-aging though :-) but...dry shampoo is good to have around. Great to use after traveling if you don't have time for a regular shampoo.

Next is a full size Lvx Nail Lacquer in KOKO

When I first saw this color I was "UGH" but the more I looked at it the more I saw potential. It would look great combined with a peach or with a peachy shimmer on top of it.

Next up is Amlactin Triple Action Alpha-Hydroxy Therapy Foot Cream.

This is a large sample size - 3 oz and it says it will slough off dead skin cells as it soothes and smooths. Sounds great, can't wait to try it.

Next is a full size Anastasia Beverly Hills Clear Brow Gel.

I don't use this type of product so I really can comment. This will go into to my "Give Away" basket. :-) Someone will like it.

Next up is Brad Biophotonic Skin Care Ultra Peel.

This is a sample - .25 oz and it says it has kojlic acid, licorice and bearberry extract to treat brown spots for a more even skin tone. Can't wait to try this!

Then lastly is Racinne Deluxe Travel Set.

These are good sized product - almost full size. It has four innovative formulas that work synergistically to visibly reduce signs of aging. It has a tube - 1 oz Ultimate Youth Power Mask, a pump tube 0.34 oz - of Ultimate Youth Power Eye Serum, a tub 0.35 oz of Ultimate Youth Power Eye Cream and a tub 0.35 oz of Ultimate Youth Power Neck Emulsion. It has Korean ginseng extract. I am going to try this today!

Then, as usual there were the "extras" thrown in the box.

This time it was a 0.12 oz tube of Blush Cream eye shadow in Azure. Looks great but not for my coloring. I also got a sample 0.09 oz of Spackle by Laura Geller, it is a tinted under make up primer and a sample 0.10 oz of Dremu Oil Serum, a anti aging Emu Oil. I was not sure what Emu Oil was, so I looked it up and it is from the fat of the Emu Bird!! It has many uses and the FDA has cautioned against fake oils.

As always an awesome box that can't be beat. $34.95 for a one time buy and $24.95 for a monthly subscription. I absolutely love the Blush Mystery Beauty Box!!

September Birch Box - Product Review

I've been super busy at my day job and then went away a couple of week-ends and got really behind on my blogging. We went to Destin,  Florida this past week-end and when I got back on Sunday I found that September Birch came on Saturday. So my first post upon my return will be about the September Birch Box.

The first thing that caught my eye was the nail polish. The bottle is really cute and the color very nice.

The label is Ruffian and this is the Nail Lacquer. It's a pretty good size sample in Fox Hunt. A good color for fall.

Next up is Benefit Cosmetics Sugarbomb Ultra Plush Lip Gloss. It is a pinky nude color with some shimmer.

My Daughter tried it and loved it. She said it was very smooth.

Then there was Mereadesso All-in-One Moisturizer. It says it is a morning and night anti aging cream serum and eye cream, a toner and a primer.

I haven't tried this yet, not sure how it will work.

The last item is Yes To Blueberries Cleansing Facial Towelettes. These are oil free wipes are suppose to purify skin without drying it out.

I tried these tonight and although they are not bad and smell OK, they just did not work very well. I had to kind of scrub my eye make up off.

And then there was a beauty extra of 2 tiny samples of Yes To Grapefruit CC Cream.

Maybe I'll try these one week-end.

All in all, this months box was just OK. I think the nail lacquer is my favorite.

My Blush Beauty Box Review will be a little late. It got cancelled because I forgot to put it on a different card when I cancelled my debit card. I had some bogus charges on my checking account and the bank told me to cancel and get a new one. I got the Blush Box going again tonight but I probably won't get it for a week or so.

I'll be blogging about my recent trips in the coming days. I had a lot of fun and sun!!

End of Summer

Here we are at the end of the first week of September...the official end of Summer week-end (Labor Day) has come and gone.

I live in Alabama...the Deep South. It is still hot. It is starting to cool down a bit though. School has started and already Costco has the Christmas stuff out. I stopped there after work and they have a what looks to be about 6 foot tall wooden soldier on display. It is really nice but.....$229. WHAT!! Who buys these things?

So, work has been just a blur lately. You may or may not know, but the deadline (with extensions) for filing corporate income tax is September 15th. Another sign of fall (at least for me).

Then we have the September birthdays. In my family we have 3 of them. One right after the other. Literally, one is the 22nd, one the 23rd and one the 24th.

It is starting to get dark earlier, I was driving home from Costco tonight around 7 and it was starting to get dark already. Doesn't it seem as though this happens overnight? I mean, one day it's light at 9PM and the next it's starting to get dark at 7PM.

The older I get the more I cherish each and every season. I want to savor them. And just as I am so sick of one the other starts. That's why God made the season I think. So we would not go crazy!

It doesn't even annoy me that the stores are setting up the Christmas stuff already. Although we should get through Halloween first.

Now that I have my first Grandchild I can experience the first day of Kindergarten and the shopping for school supplies all over again. This time I won't be so stressed or so broke!

Oh, and the first Halloween costume. My daughter showed me a picture of a baby crawling in a taco costume. ADORABLE!!

If she gets this for Margot, I will post it!

All the signs of fall. Please take time to enjoy the season, your family and life.

Nature's first green is gold,
Her hardest hue to hold.
Her early leafs a flower;
But only so an hour.
Then leaf subsides to leaf.
So Eden sank to grief,
So dawn goes down to day.
Nothing gold can stay.
