A blog for me to share my life journey, my cancer, my coping with everyday life! I focus on the beauty in life and offer opinions and hope, travel, and lifestyle choices from an over 50 generation perspective. I believe that we need to remember that life is beauty. We need to appreciate the good things in life and enjoy everyday.
About Me
Hello,
I am an over 50 woman of Italian and Irish heritage, born and raised in Connecticut but living in the deep south, Montgomery, Alabama.I love social media. I have a great husband of over thirty years, Hector, 2 grown children, a son, Jason and a daughter Jill. I have a beautiful granddaughter (from Jill) Margot who, with her birth, seemed to make the world a brighter and more colorful place and a handsome grandson named Emory who is just the right person to keep pace with Margot. I also have a white spaniel mix named Mitchell.
I am a 4 year stage IV lung cancer survivor and am on a clinical trial that is WORKING!! I have been in remission for 2 years now!
I am an accountant by trade and training. That is fun and pays the bills and all But.......................
Since I am so lucky and blessed to still be here I am filling my life with as many of the things I love as I can and that includes art, cooking, movies, travel, make up, scent...all things bright and beautiful. I am offering my opinions on the softer side of life and will always focus on beauty.
I hope I can help women of my generation embrace what they may have lost a little over the years (I know I did, between work and raising a family I forgot about ME) and give younger generations a understanding that even though we grow older, we are all should strive to remain young at heart.
These days I am leaning in and speaking out about our current political landscape. I can't keep silent. Also, I'll be sharing more about my cancer journey and hope I can help and give hope to others.
This is a work subject to change!!
